Tramadol
Tramadol is a prescription medication used to treat pain (moderate to moderately severe). Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. Tramadol can be taken with some food or without it, but once you started taking it a certain way - carry on with it. You may be first prescribed a lower dose of tramadol than you need to see hoe your body responds to the treatment. This dose may later be adjusted, but make sure you do not adjust the dosage yourself as this sibutramine supposed to be done by a qualified health care provider. If you are allergic to this medicine or any other ones that belong to the same class (opiate pain medications) taking tramadol may not be the best idea for you. Tramadol can make some people drowsy. Unless you are 100% sure this drug does not cause drowsiness in you, do not get engaged into activities that require you to be alert and concentrated. It can also make you dizzy and light-headed when you stand up quickly after lying down. Make sure you get out of bed slowly to avoid falling and injuring yourself. Some health conditions you have or even used to have can interfere with the efficiency of your treatment. Let your doctor know if you have depression, suicidal thoughts, stroke, kidney or liver disease, brain tumor, breathing problems, diabetes, head injury, lung disease, seizures, or an infection in your brain or spine, as this can affect the dosage you are prescribed. In some cases you will not be able to take tramadol at all and will be recommended an alternative method of treatment.
You do not need to call your doctor if you experience mild side effects, such as weakness, insomnia, nervousness, headache, drowsiness, uncontrollable shaking, agitation, sleepiness, sweating, nausea, indigestion, mood swings, and dizziness. These symptoms are short-lived and usually do not require the attention of a health care professional. If you forgot to take a dosage you can do it as soon as you remember unless it's time for the next one. If that is the case you can just skip the dose missed and carry on with the regular schedule of taking tramadol. Don't drink alcohol while on tramadol as it can worsen some of the side effects you may experience. It's also worth discussing with your health care provider if you can or should not drink grapefruit juice during your treatment.
